Cryptogramophone Celebrates 10 Years

Cryptogramophone will celebrate its 10th anniversary with the release of Assemblage, a DVD and two-CD compilation featuring audio and video of 18 Crypto recording artists including Scott Amendola, Nels Cline, Erik Friedlander, Bennie Maupin, Myra Melford and Jenny Scheinman. The DVD includes performances by Nels Cline and Friends playing the music of Andrew Hill and the Bennie Maupin Quartet in Poland.

New York’s Jazz Standard will host Cryptogramophone artists April 23–27 to celebrate the label’s anniversary.

The performance schedule includes:
April 23: Jeff Gauthier Goatette; Nels Cline/Alex Cline Duo
April 24: Nels Cline Singers
April 25: Scott Amendola Band; Nels Cline Singers
April 26: Myra Melford /Ben Goldberg Quartet; Bennie Maupin Ensemble
April 27: Bennie Maupin Ensemble
