NEW YORK—Drummer-turned-vocalist Grady Tate will celebrate his recently released Half Note date, From The Heart, with a performance at the Blue Note, where it was recorded six years ago.

Since the 1960s, Tate has garnered wide recognition for his session and big band drumming, but he is also a baritone vocalist who has sung on multiple albums. He will sing with his quartet on a total of four sets July 24-25, joined by special guest percussionist Wilson “Chembo” Corniel.
