Jimmy Bruno Launches Online Guitar School

Jimmy Bruno has launched a web site where guitar students around the world can take interactive lessons from the veteran guitarist.

The Jimmy Bruno Guitar Institute offers online instructional videos of Bruno explaining his technique, along with notation for students to read. In addition, students can post videos of themselves playing an assignment, followed by a response post from Bruno with comments and suggestions.

“My guitar students will never outgrow the expanding body of course material I’m making available at the Guitar Institute,” Bruno said in a news release. “No matter how good he or she gets, I am continually adding more ways for the student to deepen their mastery of the instrument.”

The site has so far enjoyed immense popularity—within the first week of opening, guitarists from 15 different countries signed up for the online course, according to the release. Enrollment is $45 for a three-month period. For more information, see www.jimmybrunoguitarinstitute.com.

“Both of us are quite grounded in the craft, the tradition and the harmonic sense,” Rosenwinkel said of his experience playing with Allen. “Yet I felt we shared something mystical as well.”
