Countdown 2023, A John Coltrane Festival, starts Dec. 20 and runs through Jan. 8 at Smoke Jazz Club in New York.

Scheduled artists include George Coleman/Eric Alexander Quintet, Melissa Aldana Quartet, Louis Hayes with the Eric Reed/Vincent Herring Quartet, Steve Turre with the Eric Reed/Vincent Herring Quintet and Jeremy Pelt with the Eric Reed/Vincent Herring Quintet, as well as a New Year’s Eve celebration and the Billy Harper Quintet 80th birthday celebration.
