The National Jazz Museum In Harlem will feature events with Billy Bang, Frankie Manning, George Avakian and the Jazz Museum In Harlem Big Band for its June programming.

The museum continues to sponsor its “Jazz for Curious Listeners” series at the Metropolitan Methodist Church on Tuesday, June 12, with a special visit from producer George Avakian.

On June 15, the museum’s longstanding collaboration with the Rubin Museum of Art (rmanyc.org) concludes its Spring 2007 schedule with violinist Billy Bang and his ensemble. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 on the day of performance.

The museum will also put on a special event June 29 featuring an interview with Frankie Manning, the creator of many classic swing dances, followed by a live swing dance with the Jazz Museum in Harlem Big Band.
