Rogers’ Second Effort Out on Criss Cross

  I

Criss Cross records has released Allegory, the sophomore effort as a leader by guitarist Adam Rogers.

Two years after the release of his debut, Art Of The Invisible, Rogers has 10 new compositions and a new sideman, saxophonist Chris Potter. The rhythm section remains the same as the last disc: pianist Ed Simon, bassist Scott Colley and drummer Clarence Penn. Supplementing the range of compositions, a Fender Rhodes and nylon-string classical guitar made their way into a couple of the recording sessions.

Though no tour is planned yet, Rogers can be seen as leader and/or sideman in cities across the western and mid-western United States throughout the end of the year.

“These days, with curated news, where people only get half the story, people can’t even speak to family members anymore,” Schneider laments.
