Stick Men Head To West Coast, Release Box Set

Stick Men—the trio of bassist Tony Levin (who plays stick), guitarist Markus Reuter and drummer Pat Mastelotto—is giving fans reason to celebrate. The progressive rock trio is currently on tour, and it has a new limited edition box set.

A member of King Crimson, Levin has toured with world with a variety of artists, including Peter Gabriel, Buddy Rich, Peter Frampton, Gotye, Chuck Mangione, Steven Wilson and Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe. He also records and tours in a jazz duo with his brother, the keyboardist Pete Levin.

Stick Men will hit several venues in California later this month, including Harlow’s in Sacramento (Jan. 17), the Regency Theater in San Francisco (Jan. 18), Kuumbwa Jazz in Santa Cruz (Jan. 20), the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills (Jan 22) and a residency at the Baked Potato in Los Angeles (Jan. 24–25, with two shows each night).

Then, following other dates in California, Mexico, Arizona, Texas and Florida, the band heads to Japan for dates in Osaka (Feb. 18) and Tokyo (Feb. 20–21).

The MoonJune label has created a special box set version of the band’s album Prog Noir. The box set contains two 180-gram LPs, two CDs, and a 17-by-22-inch color poster of the album artwork. Side B of the second LP contains bonus tracks that are not on the regular version. The two CDs are a digipack, with Disc 1 containing the regular 10-track album and Disc 2 containing eight bonus tracks.
