  I

Ken Vandermark’s quintet, Vandermark 5, will begin its North American tour in support of their latest double-cd release, “The Color Of Memory” (Atavistic) in January.

This tour marks the first time the new line up will be showcased. Now included in the quintet is cellist Fred Lonberg-Holm who joined the band after Jeb Bishop’s departure last fall.

The quintet will perform reconstructed compositions from the album, as well as new pieces written in preparation for its November European tour.

Performances kicked off Jan. 24 in Milwaukee and will conclude Feb. 5 in Kentucky.
