“What happens when we put special people with other special people?” asks Immanuel Wilkins, who seeks to cross-pollinate the arts.

Hancock has a new project on the horizon but says he will not put it out until he’s ready.

“It’s like my memoir as a picture painted in sound,” Lewis explains of his growing body of work.

“I don’t focus on the harshness of the music business,” Lloyd says. “I focus on the profundity of what we’re doing because that’s the real stuff. You can change the world with that.”

“You gotta go out on a limb and book people who you know people need to see, need to experience,” says Christian McBride of curating the Newport Jazz Festival.
