Bona, Verve Throw “Engagement” Party

Bassist, vocalist and composer Richard Bona will celebrate the release of his first album for Verve records, Munia: The Tale, at New York’s Iridium Jazz Club Oct. 7–12.

The performance will feature songs from Munia, which means “tale” in one of the 220 dialects of his native Cameroon, and will feature keyboardist Etienne Stadwijk, saxophonist Aaron Heick, guitarist Sheryl Bailey, drummer Nathan Townsley and percussionist Gilmar Gomes.
