From Oct. 31-Nov. 4, JazzFest Berlin will feature a diverse lineup of European, African and American artists for the JazzFest Berlin 2007.
The festival will open with the Algerian-French project El Gusto. Muslim and Jewish musicians will reunite after years of separation to revive Chaabi, the music they played together in Algiers in the 1940s and ’50s.
Other artists slated to perform at the festival include Florian Ross 8Ball, Wayne HorvitzGravitas Quartet, Michael Moore Quartet, Klima Kalima, Matt Wilson’s Arts & Crafts, Gebhard Ullmann, Django Bates and Henri Texier Strada Sextet. Numerous other artists are performing, as well, throughout the city.
