Lampo, the Chicago-based nonprofit organization that commissions and hosts experimental performances around the city, has announced its Winter/Spring 2018 schedule.

Some events, like the March 16 set with experimental cellist Leila Bordreuil at the University of Chicago’s Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts, are situated firmly in the experimental realm. But a pair of performances this season should appeal to jazz fans as well.

On May 12, trumpeter Nate Wooley is set to perform at the Lampo Annex, located at the Monadnock Building in the Loop. And a June 16 date at the Graham Foundation pairs saxophonist Joe McPhee with Graham Lambkin, founder of experimental rockists The Shadow Ring.

It should be noted that while Wooley and McPhee have strong connections to the jazz idiom, these performances likely will fall outside the genre.

Find the season’s schedule below.

Feb. 17: Thomas Lehn and Marcus Schmickler

March 16: Leila Bordreuil

April 7: Jana Winderen

April 21: Sarah Davachi

May 12: Nate Wooley

June 16: Graham Lambkin and Joe McPhee
