(Photo: Meredith Truax/Courtesy of Samara Joy)Grammy-winning vocalist Samara Joy has been slated to headline The Gala 2024 presented by the Jazz Institute of Chicago on May 29. The fundraising event, which will take place at the Park West Theater in Chicago, kicks off with a 4:30 p.m. cocktail reception. Dinner and performances by Jazz Links students begin at 5:30, followed by remarks and awards presentations at 6:30 p.m. Joy and her trio are scheduled to take the stage for a concert beginning at 7 p.m.
The not-for-profit Jazz Institute of Chicago is currently celebrating its 55th year. The performance by Joy, a rising star who continues to sell out venues around the world, will contribute to making this year’s Gala one of the organization’s boldest yet.
