Just in time for the FIFA World Cup 2026 tournament, Blue Note Records has launched a limited-edition merchandise line of custom soccer apparel. The Blue Note FC Merch Collection includes the Blue Note Jersey, the alternate Hub-Tones Jersey and the Blue Note Track Suit Jacket and Track Suit Pants, as well as the Blue Note Soccer Scarf.
In announcing the merch drop earlier this month, Blue Note said the stylish new additions to its fashion line pay tribute to “the beautiful game,” a reference to international association football popularized by the Brazilian soccer legend Pelé. The label, historically known for presenting “The Finest in Jazz,” noted that soccer and jazz share a common fabric of improvisational wonder.
“Both use practiced strategies, maneuvers, patterns and positions,” a company statement read, but “the freedom of improvisation and the element of surprise is what provides the thrill. With few rules and no constraints of movement, the soccer player and the jazz musician are free to follow their instincts and create magic in the moment.”
The Blue Note FC Collection is currently available for purchase on the Blue Note Store and the Everything Jazz Store. DB
