Tom Harrell has signed a multi-disc contract with HighNote Records. The trumpeter will begin recording on Dec. 5 at Rudy Van Gelder Studios with a band featuring saxophonist Wayne Escoffery, pianist Danny Grissett, bassist Ugonna Ukegwo and drummer Jonathan Blake.

“I’ve always enjoyed work and take advantage of every chance to see him in concert,” HighNote owner Joe Fields said. “Tom’s a stellar addition to our roster and this first project will be a special one as it will feature him with his working band coming off a week at the Village Vanguard.”
