The Oregon coastal resort town of Newport will present its own Jazz at Newport Festival from Sept. 7 to Sept. 10.
Called “An Eclectic Jazz Party At The Beach,” the third annual event will feature Jeff Hamilton, Houston Person, Mel Brown and John Clayton.

Hammond came to the blues through the folk boom of the late 1950s and early 1960s, which he experienced firsthand in New York’s Greenwich Village.
