The International Association for Jazz Education has set the conference proposal deadline for the 35th annual IAJE International Conference, which will be held in Toronto Jan. 9–12, 2008.
To be considered for the program, all clinic, panel, performance and research presentation proposals must be received by April 10.

“Watching people like Max Roach or Elvin Jones and seeing how they utilize the whole drum kit in a very rhythmic and melodic way and how they stretched time — that was a huge inspiration to me,” Hussain said in DownBeat.
