Wayne Horvitz Announces West Coast Tour

Keyboardist Wayne Horvitz’s Sweeter Than The Day will embark on a tour of the West Coast this March. This group also includes guitarist Tim Young, bassist Keith Lowe and drummer Andy Roth.

Tour dates include Kuumbwa in Santa Cruz, Calif., on March 1, Cafe Metropole in Los Angeles on March 2 and 3, Community Music Center in San Francisco, Calif., on March 5, Stage Door in Mt. Shasta, Calif., on March 7, The Shedd in Eugene, Ore., on March 8, Art House in Olympia, Wash., on March 9, Blue Monk in Portland, Ore., on March 10 and Seattle’s Cafe Paloma on March 11.

    Hammond came to the blues through the folk boom of the late 1950s and early 1960s, which he experienced firsthand in New York’s Greenwich Village.
