Wynton Marsalis To Release Provocative New Disc

Wynton Marsalis will release his provocative From The Plantation To The Penitentiary (Blue Note) on March 6, 2007.

Marsalis wrote the music and lyrics to the disc, which address such themes as misogyny in American entertainment and financial exploitation. The trumpeter also delivers a spoken-word vocal on “Where Y’All At?,” which addresses the lack of political leadership in the United States.
