Adderley Homage to be Released

Cannon Re-Loaded: An All-Star Celebration Of Cannonball Adderley (Concord) features interpretations of eight instrumentals popularized by Cannonball Adderley. The album will be released Feb. 12, 2008, and includes artists Tom Scott, Terence Blanchard, George Duke, Marcus Miller, Steve Gadd and vocalist Nancy Wilson.

The concept for Cannon Re-Loaded first took shape when producer Gregg Field attended a performance at The Vic in Santa Monica, Calif., where Scott was playing with pianist Roger Kellaway. He loved Scott’s interpretation of Adderley’s “Sack O’ Woe” and approached him afterward with the idea of doing a tribute album.
