Legendary jazz artist and composer Alice Coltrane is putting the finishing touches on her first commercially released recording as a leader in over 25 years. The sessions were produced by her son Ravi Coltrane.

The line-up, in addition to Alice Coltrane (on piano and Wurlitzer organ) includes bassist Charlie Haden, drummer Jack DeJohnette and Ravi Coltrane on saxophone, among others. To date, the group has recorded material by Alice Coltrane, John Coltrane, and some traditional spirituals. The album is slated for release in September.
