Atlantic Jazz Fest Kicks Off Friday

HALIFAX, CANADA—The nine-day TD Canada Trust Atlantic Jazz Festival Halifax opens Friday with an evening performance by guitarist Bill Frisell, kicking off a schedule that includes 450 local, national and international performers.

The festival is Atlantic Canada’s largest music festival, with more than 65,000 attendees every summer. Other performers include South African trumpeter Hugh Masekela, and Canadian solo pianists Andy Milne and Bill Brennan. Frisell will perform Friday with guitarist Tony Scherr and drummer Joey Baron.
