Brooklyn Underground Announces Fest Artists

The second annual Brooklyn Jazz Underground Festival will take place Jan. 17-19, 2008, at Smalls Jazz Club in New York. The Brooklyn Jazz Underground is an association of independent bandleaders with a shared commitment to improvised music.

Groups slated to perform during the three-day fest include the Anne Mette Iversen Quartet, Alan Ferber Nonet, Benny Lackner Quartet, Jerome Sabbagh Quartet, Sunny Jain Collective and others.

    ​Peplowski first came to prominence in legacy swing bands, including the final iteration of the Benny Goodman Orchestra, before beginning a solo career in the late 1980s.
