Peter Schulze is stepping down after five years as artistic director of JazzFest Berlin. This year the fest presented 24 different groups, ranging from jazz trio bassDrumBone to experimental stoRMChaser with Django Bates.

Trombonist Nils Landgren has been nominated as Schulze’s successor. Landgren, a participant in big-band projects and leader of Funk Unit, was the artistic director in 2001. He will serve as artistic director for the next three years.
