Harrisburg Hosts Central Pennsylvania Fest

For the 28th year, the Central Pennsylvania Friends of Jazz will hold its festival. Located in Harrisburg, Pa., the fest will begin May 29 with a jazz walk and culminate June 1 with a brunch and jam session.

The Kevin Mahogany Quintet featuring Dave Liebman will play a tribute to Johnny Hartman and John Coltrane May 30 after a welcoming party. Terell Stafford’s quintet will also play that night.

Artists scheduled to give workshops or perform May 31 include Phil Haynes, Jazz Youth All Star Jazz Band directed by Ron Waters, the Jim Wood Trio, the Hendrick Meurkens Samba Jazz Quartet
