Jazz At Lincoln Center Announces Schedule

Jazz at Lincoln Center will feature more than 3,000 events including concerts, education events, broadcasts and worldwide touring during the 2008–’09 season. This season marks the organization’s 22nd season of programming and the fifth season in its home, Frederick P. Rose Hall.

Some of the numerous artists scheduled to perform include Ahmad Jamal; Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, Joe Lovano and Dianne Reeves and newly commissioned works by Wynton Marsalis and Vincent Gardner.

In honor of the 50th anniversary of John Coltrane’s Giant Steps and Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue, performances by the Mulgrew Miller Trio, Take 6, the Jazz At Lincoln Center Orchestra saxophone section and a special appearance by drummer Jimmy Cobb.

The SFJAZZ Collective, comprised of Joe Lovano, Dave Douglas, Stefon Harris, Miguel Zenon, Robin Eubanks, Renee Rosnes, Matt Penman and Eric Harland, will perform music of Horace Silver and original compositions.
