Jazzschool Announces Fall Concert Series

  I

The lineup is set for the Jazzschool’s fall concert series, which coincides with the 10th anniversary of the Berkeley, Calif., school’s founding in September 1997.

The series gets underway Sept. 22 with a performance by guitarist Bobby Broom and his trio. Other highlights include saxophonist Robert Stewart’s tribute to John Coltrane on Sept. 30—the first of several “Tribute to the Masters” concerts planned for the fall and beyond—and the “Vocal Frontiers” line of concerts, featuring Inga Swearingen (Oct. 14), Theo Bleckmann (Oct. 27) and a cappella trio WeBe3 (Dec. 1), among others.

In addition, the Jazzschool 10th Anniversary Celebration will take place at Yoshi’s in Oakland, Calif., on Oct. 9, featuring Madeline Eastman and the Randy Porter Trio; Wayne Wallace and Rhythm ‘n Rhyme; Mark Levine and the Latin Tinge; and Marcos Silva and Intersection.

All of the fall series shows take place in the Jazzschool Nightclub, Hardymon Hall. For a full lineup and ticket information, visit jazzschool.com.
