A new boxed set of John Coltrane’s Prestige recordings will be released on Sept. 23 to commemorate what would have been the saxophonist’s 80th birthday.
The 6-disc set, Fearless Leader (Concord), collects all of the tracks that Coltrane cut as a leader for Prestige in the 1950s.
Wilson’s ability to connect to audiences helped her to win two Grammy awards and multiple other accolades. She was named an NEA Jazz Master in 2022.
