Saxophonist Karl Denson has just wrapped up the recording of Lunar Orbit, his newest endeavor featuring the Karl Denson Trio (KD3). Bobby Ace Records will release the album Sept. 18.

Though Denson is best known for his band Tiny Universe, KD3 is a stripped-down unit of keyboard, drums and sax. Combining elements of modern funk, hip-hop, jazz and psychedelia, Lunar Orbit is Denson’s eighth album as a leader.
