Four days before celebrating his 70th birthday on March 15, saxophonist Charles Lloyd will release Rabo De Nube, his 12th recording for ECM and the first from his new quartet.
In the spring of 2007, Lloyd formed the new group for his European tour with pianist Jason Moran, bassist Reuben Rogers and drummer Eric Harland. The concert in Basel was recorded for the CD.
Tour dates include:
March 27: Lensic Theater, Santa Fe, N.M.
March 28: Herbst Theater, San Francisco
March 29: The Athenaeum, La Jolla, Calif.
March 30: Catalina Bar & Grill, Hollywood
March 31: Triple Door, Seattle
June 1: Lobero Theater, Santa Barbara, Calif.
