Pavone has worked in jazz for more than 40 years and has collaborated with such musicians as Paul Bley, Bill Dixon, Anthony Braxton, and Dave Douglas. Along with his role as a bandleader, the bassist is an administrator and board member for the Litchfield Jazz Festival and Litchfield Summer Jazz Music Institute in Litchfield, Conn.
