Milestone Records is commemorating its 40th anniversary with releasing new collections from five of its best known artists. Sonny Rollins, McCoy Tyner, Joe Henderson, Jimmy Smith and Jimmy Scott are the subjects of these compilations.

Orrin Keepnews produced the original dates and Nick Phillips, vice president of Concord Music Group, assembled the compilations. Concord acquired Milestone in 2004.
