Moody to Headline Benefit Concert
Saxophonist James Moody will headline the annual Moody And Friends benefit concert for jazz scholarships at Purchase College on March 31 at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in New York.
Moody will be joined by an ensemble including Howard Alden, Bill Charlap, Paquito D’Rivera, Jon Faddis, Roberta Gambarini and Roy Hargrove. The concert supports the James Moody Scholarship Fund at Purchase College.
The fund represents a desire by James and Linda Moody to create opportunities for the next generation of jazz masters by providing financial assistance for students who demonstrate outstanding ability, good character and for whom the scholarship would make a difference; a major goal is to help those who might not otherwise be able to pursue a higher education.

Wilson’s ability to connect to audiences helped her to win two Grammy awards and multiple other accolades. She was named an NEA Jazz Master in 2022.
