‘Music Without Borders’ To Return To Chicago

The Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Millennium Park will present this summer the second year of the international music series “Music Without Borders,” which features traditional folk and pop artists from around the globe.

The series, which starts June 24, consists of six free concerts throughout June and July at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Chicago’s Millennium Park. “Music Without Borders” is part of Chicago’s ongoing celebration of world music.

“The response from last year’s launch of the ‘Music Without Borders’ series was so overwhelmingly positive that it was natural to increase the number of concerts this season,” said Michael Orlove, program director at the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs. “This international concert series in Millennium Park has really turned into a meeting ground for Chicago’s diverse communities. It’s become a place where people from all over can join together to experience some of the world’s most interesting music in a venue that is unlike anything else.”

“Both of us are quite grounded in the craft, the tradition and the harmonic sense,” Rosenwinkel said of his experience playing with Allen. “Yet I felt we shared something mystical as well.”
