New Vanguard Jazz Orchestra to Release New Project

Monday Night Live At The Village Vanguard will be available in July, while advance purchases will be shipped on May 1.

The new Vanguard Jazz Orchestra (VJO) recording was part of a weeklong celebration of the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis legacy that took place from Feb. 4–11 at the Village Vanguard in New York. The project is being produced by the VJO and Planet Arts in association with Sixteen As One Music Inc.

The week included special guests, new compositions, music from the VJO archives and the inauguration of First Mondays, a program where new music by established and developing composers from around the world will be featured on the first Monday of every month.
