Newport 50th Anniversary Set Planned

Columbia/Legacy will release Happy Birthday Newport: 50 Swinging Years! on June 15. The three-disc box has unreleased music from Miles Davis and Chuck Berry among favorites from Louis Armstrong, Mahalia Jackson and more.

The set also features dozens of rare photographs, as well as an introduction and song-by-song anecdotes by Newport Jazz Fest founder George Wein.
