The Pete Zimmer Group, which features Jeremy Pelt, is touring the Midwest this week.
The outfit features Zimmer on drums, Pelt on trumpet, Avi Rothbard on guitar and David Wong on bass. Pelt won a Rising Star Trumpet award in this year’s DownBeat Critics Poll.
Tour dates are as follows:

Thursday, Sept. 13, 7:30 p.m.—Botanica, Wichita, Kan.
Peplowski first came to prominence in legacy swing bands, including the final iteration of the Benny Goodman Orchestra, before beginning a solo career in the late 1980s.
