Drummer Steve Smith’s Jazz Legacy will kick off its fall 2008 tour on Oct. 2 with a performance at the Warren Auditorium in Rohnert Park, Calif. The quintet, composed of Andy Fusco, Walt Weiskopf, Mark Soskin, Baron Browne and bandleader Steve Smith, honors jazz drumming legends like Art Blakey, “Philly” Joe Jones, Elvin Jones and Tony Williams. The group will also perform original compositions and arrangements by its individual members.
