Friends and collaborators Chris Chew, Cody Dickinson and Luther Dickinson (of North Mississippi Allstars), keyboardist John Medeski and pedal-steel guitarist Robert Randolph will be re-forming The Word for four shows this December.

“The history of The Word reached back to our early years,” said North Mississippi Allstars’ guitarist Luther Dickinson. “In 1998 we toured with Medeski Martin & Wood and came up with the idea. This tour means a lot to us and we’re looking forward to getting back together with old friends.”

The group’s tour dates include:
Dec. 26: Hartford, Conn, The Webster Theatre
Dec. 27: New York City, Terminal 5
Dec. 28: Philadelphia, Electric Factory
Dec. 29: Washington, 9:30 Club
