There will also be a viewing of rare Monk moments, provided by Reelin’ in the Years, which recently released a video of Thelonious Monk performing live in Europe. Other special guests for the evening include vocalist Carolyn Leonhart, saxophonist Wayne Escoffery and Sam Newsome. Winners of the 2007 Thelonious Monk International Trumpet Competition Ambrose Akinmusire and Jean Caze will also perform at the tribute.
