Top Monk Competition Finalists To Perform at Tribeca

The top three finalists in this year’s Thelonious Monk competition will perform at New York’s Tribeca Performing Arts Center in November and December.

In a program called Jazz In Progress/Monk In Motion: The Next Face In Jazz, each finalist in this year’s trumpet competition will lead an ensemble at the center. The concerts are scheduled for Nov. 26, Dec. 10 and Dec. 17. The competition will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27, at the University of California, Los Angeles.
