Toronto Jazz Festival To Kick Off Friday

The TD Canada Trust Toronto Jazz Festival will kickoff Friday, continuing throughout the city until July 1.

The festival will present more than 350 concerts over 10 days, with 1,500 musicians performing at locations all across Toronto. Among this year’s performers are John Scofield on June 26 with his Trio Beyond and June 27 with Medeski, Martin & Wood, Antibalas on June 29 and the Roy Hargrove Quintet on June 28.

    Hammond came to the blues through the folk boom of the late 1950s and early 1960s, which he experienced firsthand in New York’s Greenwich Village.
