  I

The Vienna Meets New York Jazz Festival 2008 will feature six evenings of jazz and world music shows Oct. 31 through Nov. 7. The concerts will be held at the Jazz Standard and the Austrian Cultural Forum in New York.

The festival is aimed at providing new opportunities for Austrian jazz musicians through creative collaborations with New York players, as well as celebrating the diverse ethnic contributions to Austrian music. It will also pay tribute to Austrian jazz artist Joe Zawinul, who died last September.
