Bassist William Parker and his longstanding quartet Raining On The Moon will release a new album in October, this time joined by two guest musicians.
Corn Meal Dance (AUM Fidelity) features the quartet of Parker, drummer Hamid Drake, saxophonist Rob Brown and trumpeter Lewis Barnes, with special guests Leena Conquest on vocals and Eri Yamamoto on piano.
“Cerebral and academic thought is a different way to approach music,” Flea says of his continuing dive into jazz. “I’ve always relied on emotion and intuition and physicality.”
