Willie Nelson Returns To Standard Songbook

Willie Nelson has recorded the follow-up to his 1978 album, Stardust with another visit to jazz standards on his upcoming disc, American Classic (Blue Note). The CD will be released on Aug. 25 and features Joe Sample, Christian McBride and Lewis Nash. Johnny Mandel contributed string arrangements and Norah Jones and Diana Krall make guest appearances.

On American Classic , Nelson interprets such songs as “Ain’t Misbehavin,” “Fly Me To The Moon” and “Come Rain Or Come Shine.”
