Ernie Ball Music Man has introduced the Pino Palladino StingRay Bass Collection, featuring two Artist Series models, fretted and fretless, and a highly limited Icon Series recreation. The Artist Series basses include a ’79 Burst poplar body, dark-tinted maple neck with rosewood fingerboard and a custom asymmetrical neck profile. Both models feature a vintage-style Alnico pickup and hand-wired two-band preamp designed to match Palladino’s original tone. The Icon Series is a museum-grade replica of Palladino’s 1979 fretless StingRay, limited to just 15 instruments worldwide.
Xvive has expanded its high-fidelity wireless systems with a series of 5.8GHz products included in the company’s new U35C Microphone Wireless System for condenser microphones. The U35C system supplies 48 or 12 volts of phantom power to any connected condenser microphone or active DI box. The receiver features a protection circuit that blocks phantom power from the mixer or interface if it’s accidentally turned on. The U35C has a reliable wireless connection over a range of up to 100 feet thanks to a few key features, including the 5.8GHz band, which is less crowded than 2.4GHz so it’s less likely to encounter signal interference.
