    Saxophone Revolution

Eastman has added the EAS850 alto saxophone to its professional Rue Saint-Georges line, which revolutionizes many aspects of saxophone design that have remained standard for decades. Eight keys (B–A–G–F–E–D, bis and G-sharp) of the EAS850 have sterling silver flute touches for an improved grip. The octave key and thumb rest are sculpted in a way that fits the shape of the player’s thumb and minimizes movement. The palm-key “teardrops,” the side-key touches and the pinky keys are redone as well. By broadening the surface area of the back connectors on the saxophone, Eastman ensured that the force created upon contact between the lower kickers and upper plates is distributed over a larger area, which is more efficient, more stable and holds and adjustment better.

    Guitar Hang

On-Stage has introduced the DT8000 Guitar Stool with Hanger, an all-in-one setup that allows guitarists to conveniently store their instruments right behind the backrest of a very comfortable seat. Suitable for practice or performance, the DT8000 has an extra-thick padded cushion and four non-slip rubber feet to ensure that the stool sits firmly on the floor or stage without moving. A folding design makes this stool super easy to transport and store.

    Black Diamond Expansion

The expansion of the Vandoren Black Diamond mouthpiece family continues with the addition of the BD4 and BD7 13 Series mouthpieces. Since the release of the Vandoren BD4 and BD7 mouthpieces in 2019, professional clarinetists have been anticipating a version pitched at A=440. The mouthpieces have arrived with the new 13 Series. The BD4 13 Series is designed to offer the warmth of Vandoren’s BD5 mouthpiece, with a bit more traditional focus in the sound. The BD7 13 Series is for clarinetists looking for a broader and more complex sound with a full upper register.

    New Actions, Soulful Sounds

Yamaha’s YC73 and YC88 stage keyboards combine new keyboard actions with the soulful sounds and drawbar control of the company’s successful YC61 model (introduced last year). The YC73 features 73 weighted, balanced keys and is ideal for keyboardists who divide their playing between organ, piano, electric piano, clavi, synth and other staple keyboard sounds. The YC88 is meant for musicians who prioritize the touch and response of an acoustic piano, offering 88 weighted Natural Wood keys with triple-sensor action, synthetic ebony and ivory key tops. Both employ exclusive Yamaha Virtual Circuit Modeling to capture the sound and behavior of classic drawbar organs.
