Latin Percussion has released a limited-edition set of 60th Anniversary Congas constructed of fiberglass. Paying tribute to LP’s original drums and featuring Top-Tuning Comfort Curve II rims representing the company’s latest evolution in conga technology, the set consists of an 11-inch quinto, 11.75-inch conga and a 12.5-inch tumba. Each drum shell is unique and hand-painted with Roasted Hazel finish. They’re emblazoned with a commemorative LP60 badge and complemented by select black rawhide heads and Rustic Bronze-plated hardware. When played, they produce a deep resonant bass with cutting highs.
PRS Guitars is now building its S2 series instruments with U.S.-made pickups and electronics — the same pickup models and electronics configurations and components as the brand’s Core guitars. Loaded with PRS Guitars’ 85/15, 58/15 LT and proprietary Narrowfield and TCI pickups — and made in the company’s Maryland shop — the S2 series now carries more PRS DNA than ever. The PRS S2 series also comes with the same electronics as PRS Core instruments, including potentiometers with extreme audio tapers and other components with custom-designed features. All Maryland-made PRS electric instruments feature a thin nitrocellulose finish that lends the guitars a resonant, organic tone.
