PRS Guitars has announced its entry into the pedal market with three new stompboxes. The made-in-the-USA the lineup consists of a Transparent Overdrive, Optical Compressor and Dual Flanger. The PRS Horsemeat transparent overdrive is a from-scratch circuit designed to enhance guitar tone without coloring it. Using germanium diodes, Horsemeat gives a throatiness without sounding nasal or too high-pitched and deliver harmonic richness. The PRS Mary Cries optical compressor is based on the LA-2A and helps to harness players’ dynamic audio range. The PRS Wind Through the Trees (pictured) is a dual flanger that offers a sound reminiscent of the wind whipping through the trees.
Boss has announced the Dual Cube LX and Dual Cube Bass LX, the latest members of the Cube amplifier family. Ultra-compact and filled with Boss tones, the Dual Cube LX (pictured) and Dual Cube Bass LX are ideal amps for home practice and jamming with friends. Indoors and out, players can enjoy immersive sound with custom-designed stereo speakers and versatile power with the included AC adaptor or eight AA batteries. An array of connectivity options are included as well. Players can use the stereo line outputs to directly connect to a P.A. system and perform on stage or use the USB or i-Cube-Link connectors to capture mix-ready sounds in music software on a computer or mobile device. For live streaming applications, the user can capture their voice with a headphones mic and send it to the USB and i-Cube Link outputs along with their instrument’s sound.
