Toca Percussion has introduced the Commuter Conga, a portable drum that’s ideal for musicians on the go. The Commuter Conga is available in 10- and 11-inch head sizes and comes standard with Remo Fiberskyn heads. Musicians can purchase drums separately or choose from one with a single stand or both sizes with a double stand. The lugs are accessible at the top, making it simple and quick to adjust the sound and tuning. The 10-inch drum comes with a 3-inch diameter port on the bottom, allowing the highs to ring loud and true while letting the slaps come through. On the other hand, the 11-inch drum comes with a 6-inch diameter port on the bottom, allowing for astonishing midrange tones and just the right amount of bass. Both single and double stands are made from heavy-duty steel and feature an adjustable arm that holds either size of the Commuter Conga tightly.
Ampeg has introduced the SGT-DI preamp and DI pedal, which gives bassists an entire rig in a single stompbox. The compact, portable SGT-DI includes an enhanced Super Grit Technology overdrive circuit featuring Ampeg SVT and B15 voices, along with a three-band EQ with sweepable mids. In addition to its analog circuitry, the SGT-DI includes the first IR Loader/Cab Simulator from Ampeg, offering new capabilities and control over every aspect of bass tone. Players can choose from three onboard classes Ampeg factory cabinets or load up to three cab IRs of their own using the free Ampeg IR Loader application.
